I was first interested in the Newton in 2004. I was
looking for device to record handwritten notes that
could transfer onto my desktop without having to
retype everything. I was not interested in learning
a new way to write. So that ruled out Grafitti
& palm. Searching on the web led me to Newton.
So my searching led me to an old MessagePad 120. Since then I have moved thru a 130, an emate and a 2100. through various trades and exchanges. I am amazed at the versatilaty of the Newton platform. Many things have been worked into the Newton OS, Wifi and Bluetooth to name a couple. However, it's main drawback is desktop connectivity/synchronizing. Currently there are some members of the newton community working on connection options for modern OS's (Win XP & Mac OS X)
